This PHECC certified course was formally known as the QQI/FETAC certified ‘Occupational First Aid’ course.
It is recognised by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) as the required training for equipping workplace first aiders to deal with the most common medical emergencies and by The Child and Family Agency (TUSLA) as the standard for people working in childcare.

Over 3 days The First Aid Responder course incorporates Cardiac First Responder skills and teaches how to manage a patient who has become suddenly ill or injured in a pre-hospital environment until the arrival of emergency medical services. The FAR course educates participants on how able to assess and manage patients in a uniform and organised approach, in accordance with the PHECC Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs).
